Copyediting
and On-screen Editing
Copyeditors
ensure that your message and meaning are
clear and engaging. We will examine your work for
syntax, brevity, redundancies, lapses in tone and style and we will
reword cumbersome phrasing. We check facts within the realm of general
knowledge and create a style sheet for each project.
We
will check your work for
grammar
spelling
usage
punctuation
style
accuracy
consistency.
We
will edit on-screen based on your preference. This simple
process means that materials supplied by e-mail or on disk
can be edited on a computer so that no paper has to be generated.
Changes are input on-screen during the process thus saving you a
step later on.
Using word-processing features, the revisions and notes can be included
as part of the file. You can make the final decision to input them
or not. Editing on-screen tends to be slower than on hard copy,
however, many of our clients consider it to be more efficient overall.
Send your copyediting or proofreading job to us by e-mail at info@doublespace.org
or call us at (416) 516-2292. Additional information regarding orders
and the submission of materials is on our Ordering
page.
